PRAISE TEAM

I. GENERAL MUSICAL CATEGORY INSTRUCTIONS

A. All presentations of God-honoring music must be done live.

B. Non-electronic drum trap sets are excluded.

C. Four copies of the Presentation Information Sheet and music must be submitted at the time of presentation, not including copies for the participants and accompanist.

1. All copies of music submitted must be numbered by individual measure.

2. Each selection must include the words of the song. Failure to provide the words, even if the judges know them, will mean a score of zero points in the "Biblical Accuracy" section.

3. If the presentation is different from the written music, the music must be rewritten so that the judges' copies reflect the exact notes and words being presented.

D. Memorizing music is recommended but the use of music is permitted and will not affect the judging.

E. We recognize signing as a legitimate ministry and it may be used in any category as long as it meets the rules of that category. The presentation will be judged on the basis of the rules of that category not the signing. Signing in individual categories must be done by the individual participant in that category.

F. Any type of dance or dance interpretation is excluded from all categories.

G. Where available, Word of Life provided sound equipment may be used, except where amplification is an integral part of an instrument.

H. Presentations are to be no longer than ten minutes in length.

I. Setup times will be as follows:

1. Three minutes for accompanists.

2. Five minutes for Instrumental Groups.

3. Ten minutes for Specialty Instrumentals and Praise Teams.

J. Two-point deductions will be assessed for:

1. Failure to number each measure.

2. Failure to provide specified amount of lyrics.

3. Failure to provide the proper and specified amount of music.
